I used Gordian KNot to convert my TV captures to DivX files. I was making a 40 minute episode into a 700mb file, but I want to redo them to 350mb. I no longer have the original mpeg. Any ideas how I would this?

You can just re-encode them with Gordian Knot.

If you can't get it to work with GK and got compatible codecs you could use StaxRip. It uses like GK VirtualDubMod which of course can also be used directly. Setting up multipass in order to aim for a fixed file size is a little bit more work with that.

I tried again with GK, opened the 700mb avi, set the bitrate to make a 350mb file, reencoded it and the file ended up 799Mb. Tried it with 2 different files, same thing. I'll have a look at StaxRip.
