Hi All,
first sorry for my english.I'm a member of doom9 italian forum.I have writed the first version of a little
utility that try to protect dvd from copy a fews months ago.For me it's only a big game!!!The name is Dvd Copy Protector v1.00beta.

I used Win zip 9.0 Sr-1 with the Password : dcpv100beta

This version is very experimental (there are some bugs) and now I'm working on the next version using VB.net with many features.

When we corrupt a dvd the problem is the compatibility with home players.And so i need a help to test some new
funcions.I receive many english mail about my program and his functions but i can't reply all.
If someone are interested to Dvd Copy protector can ask any question on this Thread and I'll try to reply ......I hope you understand

You try to create an image ISO of a dvd (also only 1 MB) and you apply the level 2 of the form Corruptions ISo.You must use "Nero Write Image" to burn the image iso just created (of course use dvd+rw) and you try then to read this dvd with Dvd Decrypter (File Mode)...............try on your home player too....

Does someone want to play with me?!!!!

Does someone have a master dvd Plextor(for Overburn features)?

there is a bug...cannot make iso...looks like path to mkisofs is wrong.

However, after using the encryt and corrput ifo/vob options Anydvd says DVD is mastered wrong and shuts itself off. DVD Decryptor will try to copy...when it hits the bad section it just shuts off and stops copying....interesting. So if you made VTS 1 bad and had movie in VTS 2 then all would stop copying right away....easily fixed though but average user would be stuck....when is new beta?

Interesting. Any documentation would help. Have never tried copy protection software before. Don't want to end up with expensive coasters. :)

and if you were to tell him and he did put them on dvds then i would be personally paying you a visit asking what the frell you were thinking. ;)

what i am confused about is why would anyone want to do this to their dvds anyway. the only possible reason i can think of is if they wanted to sell their dvds and wanted to be another sony or macrovision and butcher the dvds. i am sure you can find plenty of posts stating what people think of things like arcoss for that score.

well, it's good as a test of concept, and if it were made opensource (i haven't checked it out yet, maybe it is?) it'd be invaluable to developers of ripping software.

of course i'd never want to put it on a DVD for replication. most likely the option wouldn't exist - the plant would reject the master outright i think... they're very finicky, and if copy protection of this kind were to be used, it would happen during the mastering process at the plant, not on my end. that would mean an extra per-disc fee, no doubt.

@ DGZ: i would never tell my boss because, nice guy though he is, he's always up for something that can increase the bottom line, even though it would do no such thing. the anime fan base is very much a world of ripping and downloading, and if you piss the fans off you'll be selling a lot less DVDs. hell, that "you wouldn't steal a car etc" trailer is annoying enough (i remember now! it's AFACT - Australian Foundation Against Copyright Theft. damn them). extra copy protection would be the last straw for many people i suspect.

interestingly enough, RightStuf in the USA don't even put CSS on their discs. good thinking if you ask me. too bad they don't do more titles.

ac3filter.ax is not deleted after uninstall. Trying to unregister reports this error:
"DllUnregisterServer in ac3filter.ax failed. Return code was 0x80070005".

Reinstalling fails for the same reason. The installer fails after extraction.

Hi,
I try to explain the reasons for the birth of Dvd Copy Protector.I followed this forum
in 2001 trying to learn from Derrow or Mpucoder all on the dvd.I know the VM command and the whole structure dvd.In the doom9 Italian forum have been the first ones that have had to whether to do with Arccos in the film "E' già Ieri ".It was a simple Link cell 5 in the Vts of the film but didn't wait for him in that period!!!
Subsequently for every film that exited that it contained some protection we tried to explain to the other end users of the forum in thing it consisted and as we had protected the dvd.I want to remember that Pivello (Dvd Washer) is a member of the Italian forum.
Together with Sir Didymus ( you know), Robinud, Null Stuff has discovered the functions
of the files PSl2 of Dvd Decrypter that then they have been used about to create the Plugin for PGC EDit by reversing Dvd Decrypter (sorry us L_UK!!!).
To a certain moment I started to hypothesize new protections that still they were not
implement in the dvds in sale.To give way to the end users to make a will my theories
I started to write small form or program that dealt him to apply certain corruptions....

As I have said for me it is only a game, but I would want to underline that in the film "the Keeper" techniques are been used very similar to mine.
After the publication of Dvd Copy Protector I have received a lot of mails from people
what very interested was to his functions. Now I collaborate with a small house
of Italian production of dvd .
Nevertheless I believe whether to spread knowledges is the good way to help
the end users.If we am able to apply protections then we also succeed in getting away
on a commercial dvd without attending the new version of Dvd FAb Decrypter or Anydvd.
To understand what happens I believe is more stimulating for all. ...................

Before creating an image ISo, Mksofts.exe effects some controls on the validity of the structure dvd.If you apply some corruptions to level IFo the image iso of the dvd it won't be created.Unfortunately I have not succeeded in removing these controls of Mksoft.exe.
You must use Nero >>> Dvd Video >>> Image recorder to create the image ISo. ....skipping his error messages.
You must apply the corruptions at the .bup files too.

Try to create an image ISo from a normal dvd without corruptions by using
ISO maker to see if there are problems.

Do you want to create a corrupt dvd with me?I'll be very happy in this case...

You are right.I have written those words.If you create an image ISo of a dvd and you apply only the level 1 of the Corruptions ISo Dvd Decrypter
succeeds in seeing the correct structure of the dvd...
If you active the "DEBUG mode" option (Settings >>>I/O window) you can see all the parsing of a dvd.This parsing is the best parsing I have finded in a dvd ripper.For me is
always the best ripper....

oh yes, i do understand why someone such as Junior73Italy may be interested in working out how these things are done. i meant i dont understand why someone who is say making a dvd of their home shot footage, say of their kids, would want to do this to their dvds. the only reason i could think of is they were selling the dvds and didnt want them copied. in that case how is it any different than what sony and macrovision is doing in regards to butchering dvds ?

Well, not just selling. Even lending it out to a friend, you can't be very sure that a copy will not be made. Atleast some form of copyprotection that can beat one-click copying helps. Just my thoughts.

Yes a mix of corruptions of the first version of Dvd copy Protector and other things.

Before you corrupt an ISo dvd image (for example 4 Gb) with level 1 or 2 (or together)I suggest you to save the original ISo\UDF informations
in a file .bk (for example called Original.bk) to replace these informations in the future.You must use ISO backup module to save
and to replace the file .bk if you need.You leave the default value of 400 when you save the file .bk and ,of course,when you replace
this file.

Try to save the file .bk and compress it by using Win Rar or Win zip and attach it on this forum ...... so i can see the ISo \UDf informations
of you dvd (iso Image) and if you want I can apply other corruptions that there are not present of Dvd Copy Protector 1.00 beta.
I mean that I change some informations on the file .bk that you attach on this forum and later I send you a new file .bk that you replace
on your ISo DVD image......

2° : Open iso image with DVD Copy Protection...

5° : Burn iso image with Nero: (No messages of erros)

I apply Level 1 and Level 2 corruption. Load the .iso with Nero ImageDrive. Open the DVD in DVD Shrink and create backup. Works fine !!? Did I miss something ? I expected DVD Shrink to complain... :-( Do I have to use Daemon Tools only to load the image ??

EDIT: Even with Daemon Tools, DVD Shrink was able to rip the DVD image :-/

an easier way to copy protect a dvd is to record a few minutes of black screen at the end of the movie, the with a knife make a small scratch at the edge of the disc.

What about this, I do some fan editing from time to time and while people making a copy of my dvd is fine, what I really don't want is people removing the "DO NOT SELL THIS DISC EVER" title screen or ripping out just the movie. So all they should be able to do is image/iso the disc not demux it etc.

Hello... This is my first post.

I've been search around the google a way to protect a DVD video, but I can't find... In this forum, I saw a software called
DVD Copy Protector v1.00Beta, made by junior73Italy, and he puts a link to download, but the link seems to be broken... I tried so many times download the software, but no sucess...

I know: there's no 100% protection, but I wanna test this software...

Please, if someone has the software, share with us, and post it on Rapidshare, 4Shared, Sendspace, etc...

I can't find it anymore for download!!!

I hope that someone can help me...
