Is there anywhere online I can read about what the post processing settings do? I can't find anything at all on google or doom9 about them. I want to uninstall DivX6 and use ffdshow for everything instead. I know what dering and deblock is for from reading about the divx and xvid decoder. Everything from processing strength (overall strength of the processing settings?) and below that I want to know. :D

Using Dec 21 2005 SSE build

Thank you!

SPP is completely different for deblocking, higher quality but extemely high cpu. You can search here for "SPP". mplayer and Nic's are just two different methods of detecting blocks, similar to xvid, with different thresholds. (level fix is a PC->TV level change, not recommended unless you know you need it.)

Wow both methods sure do smooth the picture. Does post-processing have any effect if I don't select a processing method?

Deringing (the two highest levels) smooths a lot more than debocking only, so you might turn that down, and if that's still too much, you can turn the "strength" slider down.

I have no idea what happens when you uncheck everything, heh.
