Greetings all,

I donated to the DVD-RB fund last summer or early last autumn, and almost immediately after doing so my computer fritzed out on me.

I just got it back after months of tech's trying to figure out what was wrong. I reloaded most of my software and such, including DVD-RB, even though I know my version is really old. The version I was using is v.84 I believe. I have several emails with DVD-RB Pro info telling me where to download it from.

My first and main question is, is the file that I download the "Full Installer" or do I get that somewhere else? I'm hesitant to run it before I find this out. I'd like to be able to run an installer that would install everything for me, as I'm no programmer or highly-tech savvy type.

My second question is, if I install the Pro version will it overwrite my old free version (which I know how to use, and know that it works)? Or install itself separately?

Thanks for any assistance folks, it is greatly appreciated.

Definitely use the full installer. It will do all the configuration for you.

0.84 is really, really old... The latest version is v1.061 -- and v1.07 is coming out very soon. Make sure you download the most recent version.

Thanks jdobbs for the quick reply - so then, is that file I dl'd today (from the link in the email from you) the "Full Installer"? I just want to make sure I understand, thanks.

Yes, take this one Your copy of the the fully installable version of DVD-RB is available at (including updates):
And you can install it to a different folder if you want to keep your free version.
But I'm pretty sure you will never use the free again. ;)

Thanks Rippraff, much appreciated. I'm going to give the new DVD-RB a shot later this week. Thanks all.

I just got the email about the 1.07.1 update - if I only download the Update file, are there instructions within that file on where and how to install the update? Or is there somewhere here in the forum I can find that info? Any help greatly appreciated, thanks!

I'd highly recommend you always download the installer... zip file is only there for folks who have really, really slow connections.

Ah, ok. Then I'll go for the full installer version. I hope that it keeps the settings from the previous installed version?

If you have settings that you want to keep -- answer "No" when asked whether to overwrite your INI file.

I'm glad I read this thread. I had tended to use the smaller update files. But you said the preferred method is the full installer. I haven't upgraded since the release candidate just before the official release, since I haven't been using the program very much in the past few months. I have downloaded all the updates, though.

I'm afraid there will be so many changes I'll have to go through a learning curve. Oh well, onward and upward.

If using the Installer all you have to download is the lastest version -- all updates are included.

If not, be careful where you install stuff. EG 1.07.2 has eclpro.exe and HCBatch.exe going into different sub-folders than the main files.
