My workplace just purchased Sorenson Squeeze Compression Suite 4.3 with VP6Pro plugin. After doing a few video tests (similar sections of video as per last Doom9 video codec comparison); a few things occur to me:
1.) 2-pass VBR > 1-pass quality VBR
2.) 2-pass VBR > 2-pass CBR
3.) rest of optimal settings for DVD --> FLV? I have no idea.
There doesn't seem to be a really good guide for making Flash video. I've read every page off Macromedia's Flash video sections, I've Googled like mad, but have not been able to leverage anyone's experience with Flash Video VP6. My goal is to convert DV and DVDs for progressive download/play use - not Flash Media Server (although Red5 looks intriguing). Anyhow:
Does anyone have any experience with Squeeze/VP6/Flash Video? I'd do more testing myself, but I don't have much time on the machine on which Squeeze is installed. Thanks very much in advance for any guide that can provide settings for Squeeze/VP6 in the 900kbs range that can give me the highest quality of both film and low-motion video sources.
