Regarding the first post to this thread:She sent her briefs to the Brooklyn federal court requesting a pre-motion conference in anticipation of making a summary judgment motion dismissing the complaint.Does this mean that the poor woman will now be without undergarments until this absurd lawsuit is either dismissed or settled?

I think I know what happened. I bet her cable tv provider is Comcast.
Story:
A couple years ago i was helping a friend fix her internet with Comcast, so called up Comcast tech support. Make a long story short, it turned out that Comcast's database had some significant amount of corruption (or just plain shoddy programing). Thier database had merged two accounts data. The cable modem had managed to be registered on someone else's account. When they got their bill, they canceled the high speed internet. When comcast pulled up the modem on one page, it returned the right billing information, and on another page the wrong billing information.

I'll bet the same thing has happened to her and she doesn't know it. Comcast supports billing to a charge card automatically, so the woman doesn't even have to have signed a check or looked at her bills.

Q: If this is in fact the case, does comcast care? or are they making to much money for double billing?
On one side it warms the depths of my heart to hear the RIAA screwed up.
But on the other, how many people are Comcast screwing?

I haven't bought a new CD for more than 3 years now.

All of my CD's are used. I'm never going to give up listening to music, but I can restrict what the RIAA can make by buying used.

The RIAA is starting to feel invincible from the Supreme Court verdict. These kind of actions will eventually come back to haunt them.

She may not have ever bought or used a computer, but there was an insecure wireless router in her name.
Her son says: “The computer wasn’t working. I left the wireless router because everything was connected, but there was no computer attached and no laptop at the house.”
Doesn't take a genius (luckily for the RIAA) to figure out what's happened here.
