DGIndex question about IFO or File Mode

I just need confirmation on the following. If I want to create a project file in DGIndex, I have to have my dvd (the main movie) ripped in IFO mode from DVD Decrypter correct? Is there any other way?

For example if I rip a movie in file mode in DVD D, that will copy the movie as well as everything else. Can I load this in DGIndex and if I can, I'm assuming it will create a project file with everthing and not just the main movie?

Yes, but that "everything" may not be what you want. You may have different angles all jumbled up together, for example.
