Yes, i have a sort of infection (something like meningitis) at the brain and the spine (neck). I have vertigos, problems reading, mantaining the concentration, standing still, walking and doing any kind of manual job that requires some dextrity (including typing). Im taking meds for limiting the symptoms but im awaiting the spinal test results to initiate a correct therapy. In the meantime im constricted to bed...
P.S.: I need a cell phone with a bigger screen... :)

however this evening i sent my GF to buy a fast mobile UMTS card for my notebook so i can use it to surf the web at a decent speed (thats how im connected now).

The problem is in immunite (antiinfection system). When I was a kid I also had meningitis. Only way to resolve are sport activity and cold water, antibiotics will help only for a short period and do worse after the illness.

You should be very angry with you illness and take radical decision as cold water bath. :mad: It always helped me.

Yep, i've done RMN and it shows the affected areas. Maybe the correct term is inflammation (not infection), and yes it could be immune or toxic as well as bacterical or viral. The docs are waiting for the spinal liquid tests results to estabilish the cause of the pathology.

im slowly recovering from the symptoms but it requires time. also unless the docs do not know the "source of evil" they can assign me an appropriate therapy.

Look at Sharktooth. He spent all his free from work and others duties time to compiling x264, creating profiles, apling patches and all that's apparently for x264. Maybe he didn't sleep enough, always tired from work, personal problems etc.
I'm sure this guy was doing a great job for all of us. And now just even simple asking from what he think about future compilation of x264 will be shame.

Just imagine yourself ill without forces and ask yourself if you even will help your mother (not talking about strange people from video community).

In future it will be better if Sharktooth will be think about his own health and life and only then about x264.

my conditions are serious but im still able to program my future:)
i have 2 options for x264 builds:
1) keep them as they are
2) evolve into something more "complete"
what does that mean? well... 1 is quite understandable :p
the second option means i wish to include the full megui with a bunce of OSS software (faac, avisynth, dgindex etc) in a "full" package (i already anticipated it) so it will be a full working encoding solution.
since i have plans for adding some megui features, it will be a full encoding and editing OSS solution at some point in the future.
however, that requires some time and that my health conditions get better...
so what do you think?

I don't know about the rest of this forum, but I don't really use any of "One Click" options like DGIndex, Avisynth, FAAC.exe and stuff.

I usually use my own versions of DGIndex and a custom version (TSP's MT build)
of avisynth.

I don't use FAAC.exe either since this would require me to re-encode my orginal .ac3 file. I've always used .mkv for this purpose.


Maybe others need them more then I do.


However, I do appreciate the custom options like AQ and other experimental stuff that isn't available in the official ones. The Automatic Interlacing detector that Berrinam made and the included calculator are also good.


Perhaps the "One-Click" additions could be done later to save you some stress.

Get well soon sharktooth! The all OSS idea sounds awesome to me too. The only frustrating thing about the new workflow (MeGUI, CLI encoders etc) is that it's somewhat daunting for a new user to set-up, although that has its merits as well - forcing you to learn every part of the way.

01. They need not to worry about missing components after running your installation package. :) :helpful:
02. Latest cvs build of MeGUI is not always available in ease of use. Most of the bugs created when new features are introduced. A "stable" version of MeGUI released from developer will help user to determine with version of MeGUI to go with.

I was under the understanding that it wasn't a medically established fact, but sunlight did help and that there are stastically far more cases in Tasmania (not much sun) than Queensland (lots o sun).

You know doctors. Stay aways from sunlight, herbs, acupuncture and take lots of medication.

Sorry to hear that Sharktooth. My mom had MS but she is fine now. Actually she is the president of the local MS society with ~200 members.
It seems to me that you have lite MS because some people cant even walk after that.
She was also in hospital for a month and doctors didn't even knew what disease it was.
...But to encourage you things will only get better and better when you leave the hospital

I'm so sorry for the diagnosis. I have early suspected an immune (or toxic) origin but I wasn't so sure because sclerosis is a mostly young woman pathology. I think today there are good therapies (Interferon ...). You must also make a lot of soft sport (kine).

That's really unfortunate. Was that a long time ago, or fairly recent? I think they've sorted the antibiotics with MS, cause all they can do is relieve the pain of most sufferers. Though most people that have tried smoking marijuana after being diagnosed with MS have said that it works wonders. I doubt that your doctor will prescribe an illegal drug for you though. ;)

Having never had so-much as a cold or flu before, around 10 years ago (while in my mid 30's) I was prescribed antibiotics for a viral infection... which turned out to be glandular fever!

In hind-sight I guess I returned to work too quickly because from then on my immune system was never the same again.

Within a couple of months I cracked one of my back teeth, which became infected and abscessed, for which I was prescribed "aerobic" and "non-aerobic" antibiotics.... non of which worked properly. The type of antibiotics was changed but eventually I had the tooth pulled.

However, I kept getting chest infections (more antibiotics) which was later diagnosed as being acute bronchitis, which further developed into pneumonia (even more antibiotics).

To cap it all, and despite all these antibiotics, I managed to get an abscess in another tooth, which led doctors to believe my immune system was damaged.

Like Sharktooth, I've had camera's shoved in every orifice, spinal fluid drained and various scans.... I tried going back to work, part-time but kept falling asleep, forgetting things and felt over-whelmed with tiredness. I was later diagnosed as suffering from CFS/ME... that was around five years ago

But throughout all this I've noticed my short term memory has become very erratic. Sometimes I forget whole days but mostly it's a few hours... So I have to make notes (which I often forget I've made).

Anyway.... that's me ;)

I've had numerous problems with health. In my first year of 6th form, I developed a virus similar to glandular fever that kept me out of studies for around 3 weeks. Not good, considering I got it from my little brother! I also have a heart condition, that meant the expedition to Bolivia I was planning to go on was off, because the insurance company refused to insure me. :(

And to top it all off, I've lived with Asperger's Syndrome for the past 6 years.

Here where i live(Salvador - Bahia- Brazil) its very, very hard to see anyone with a disease.
I know about 300 people, only very litlle like sinus diseases, and i had extremily low pression.(7x4)

Asperger's Syndrome isn't a disease. It's a condition that you're born with. You've had it all you're life. My brother has it, so I know for sure.
In the UK, AS has only been identified in the last 20 years or so, and since the early 90s has been accepted as being related to Autism. I was diagnosed in 1999, after my parents and teachers thought something was up with me. Yes, I may have had it from when I was born, but until you are diagnosed, you don't know whether the Aspergers is causing you to do weird things.

There is also the (as yet not concretely proved) theory that after having the MMR jab, you develop Autism and other Autistic Spectrum diseases/conditions. I did have the MMR jab, so I have to live with the fact that either I was born with AS, or I developed it during my childhood. Not a nice thought.

I don't know but there is certainly a multiple sclerosis patients association in Italy. They can help you a lot of because they can share their life experience with you and told you about side effects of the treatment (interferon) and how to deal with in daily life. I know also that research is very intensive in this domain (multiple sclerosis). I can make a little bibliography (state of the art) for if you want.

But it's hard to have an objective view about that when you're the one who got it. Still find it hard to resign myself to some problems with my back. It's a shame that it takes stuff like this to sometimes remind us that we're all in this crazy game together. I know the free home-remedy advice can sometimes stike you as uninvited (oh, hell, who'm I fooling? "Irritating" is a pretty functional word), but it's all from the heart; no one of worth turns their back on others if there's a chance they'll be able to help.

In April of last year, my wife and I had to spend four months apart while I stayed in Seattle WA in order to get a donor stem cell transplant to treat (and hopefully cure) relapsed Hodgkin's Disease Lymphoma--my third relapse in five years. Recovery during any of the three very different treatment regimines was anything but fun. My personal business of videography suddenly became up in the air (I can tell you a good story about throwing up fast enough to still be able to film the first dance at a client's wedding... while as far as anyone knew I'd just excused myself to use the bathroom at the chapel). Thanks to sickening regimines of medications (and medications to counteract the side-effects of THOSE medications), my personal fitness training business pretty much folded. But you know what? In many ways, life is now so much better than it was.

For example, if I ever had any doubts as to how long my wife would stand beside me, they're gone forever now. Those four months in Seattle saw outrageous cell phone bills--and we won't get into how well-financed Alaska Airlines became because of us whenever she could grab a few days to come and see me. Once I returned home, she never faltered with her support. Never flinched once. Some couples are married for many years before they find that out about each other... We just celebrated our first "official" year together earlier this month, in fact. (We've actually been together for just over two years, but hey! It's our first year being married.)

I'm not biting off more than I can chew anymore. Life before all this saw me working a full time job (which gave me the medical insurance I otherwise would have overlooked) on top of running a videography and a personal training business. All I did was work. Now I actually know enough to step back and look at a sunset once in a while. And for the first time? I know I'm happy.

To make a short story long, my point is that things are always bleaker at the get-go. I know you'll both amaze and impress yourself with the strength you find inside of yourself (just in case that whole process hasn't already started ;) ). Just know that I'm amoung the many of us who are in your corner.
