I am not sure if this belongs here or in the software players forum...Sorry if I got the wrong one.

I have been using Recode to encode my DVD collection and TV recordings to Standard AVC using Recode. I use SageTV as a media server front-end and since it can not play AVC files natively, I am forced to use an external player which is Zoomplayer. But when I am using Recode to encode something and try to play an AVC file in Zoom all I get is Audio and a blank video. The weird thing is that it does not always happen, sometimes it plays fine. Before I start going crazy testing how or when it happens I would just like to know if anybody else is experiencing the same issue?

Installing ffdshow (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDShow.htm) + haali media splitter (http://haali.cs.msu.ru/mkv/MatroskaSplitter.exe) will do the trick.

Make sure you enable 'MP4' support while installing Haali Media Splitter.

they are both already installed. I can play mp4 AVC files fine except sometimes while using Recode to encode.

try playing the files in graphedit and check what filters are used

try renaming your "zplayer.exe" to something like nero.exe, or showtime.exe or recode.exe
(should help if you use Nero 7)

Not neede for zoomplayer. Itīs my usual player. Try "Render Media File" in graphedit and tell us which filters you see. Nero Parser not deaktivated? AVC playback in ffdshow enabled?

MP4 File -> ffdshow video parser -> VMR input0 Video Renderer.
