Any one got a PSL file for this movie? DVDD will not decrypt. Hangs up at 10% .

I did mine with AnyDVD. I'd almost bet I didn't need anything but Shrink, but as AnyDVD runs in the background, I never tried.

Ok mabe it's me but here goes. I attempted to backup my freshly purchased copy of Legends of Zorro ( region 1) before the grands kids get a-hold of it and chew it up. I used DVDD and of course right from the start I get the horrible error message. OK so I resort to DVD Fab Express and yea it goes through perfect. Boy am I happy... I go to Shrink (and again it's me) but it will not read what is on the hard drive. It shows Audio ts and Video ts.I click on Video _ts and all the files are there. I tried to re-author it and the files listed are menus... VTS 2 through VTS 23, main movie... Title 3, 4 and 5 which are the only ones that will play in the preview screen and are not the main movie but stunts and commentary, etc. and Extras... titles 5 through 23 There is no main movie files. Now I've been using DVDD and Shrink together for many many months with no problems as to backing up.I kinda know how shrink worksand never ran into any problems right from the start..... So what gives with DVD Fab? It made vts files that Shrink will not copy. Any answers before this old goat goes bonkers ?

Use DVD Fab Decrypter (http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm), which is different from DVDFabExpress. It's easier to use and very hard to mess up :D

This will copy your entire DVD to your hard drive. From there use DVD Shrink as normal.

@VWRacerI'd almost bet I didn't need anything but ShrinkYou'd lose your bet ;>} "Legend of Zorro" is "ARccOS" copy protected and cannot be processed directly by DVD Shrink...

The thing I can't figure, is, why can I rip using only AnyDVD, and Shrink? It seems everyone is using something entirely different.

Interesting, do you think that a PSL file for DVDD will allow the program to be ripped to HD and then use shrink?

If I use Dvd decrypter how do I take that file and then burn it with dvd shrink? Do you just place all the video_ts files in the reauthor part? Also, If I'm gettin an error on DVD Shrink saying "data error (cyclic redundancy check)" would that be because it is protected?

@LARRYBInteresting, do you think that a PSL file for DVDD will allow the program to be ripped to HD and then use shrink?Sure - although you may have to use that as PART of the PGCEdit plus plugin plus "Wizard" setup...

Hi!

Which specific DVD title and region are you talking about?

A CRC error indicates that there's either a problem with the physical DVD (scratched, dirty, Peanut Butter and Jelly) - or "ARccOS" copy protection, that DVD Shrink cannot resolve. First, try cleaning the DVD. If DVD Shrink still generates this error:

I tried ocean's eleven and flightplan and they both gave me the cyclic redundacy error, and I'm guessin the region would be US

2) Regarding "Ocean's 11" (I presume you're referring to the George Clooney version and not the orginal Frank Sinatra version), follow my suggestions regarding cleaning the DVD, etc.

I successfully burned a backup of this movie using the same method I used for The Fog: DVDFab Decrypter - VOBBlanker - DVDShrink. I did run into the exact same problem I had with The Fog, in that even after going through DVDFabD and VOBBlanker Shrink gave me a message that the file was too big, I clicked continue anyway and it too backed up a perfect 4.35GB copy, just like it did with "The Fog." Plays perfectly. I did use the most recent DVDFabD and VOBblanker versions available when backing up Zorro. With Shrink I did use Deep Analysis with both "The Fog" and "Zorro", but I did not try either one without DA first so I dont know for certain that it was actually necessary, but with DA I know it will work for you, just takes a little longer.

Wow!....I just backed up my newly purchased "Legend of Zorro" by using PgcEdit(latest version) and the PSL2(ARccOS) plugin! I used the wizard mode and at the end cleaned up my files with FixVTS...., then DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter were able to shine like new! Boy! thanks to everyone for helping! Always know that all your hard work is worth every time consuming hour and greatly appreciated!

just did zorro with dvd fab decrypter

Well I thought I would try DVD FAB (30 day free mode), At first I thought it did work, the Previews and credits came up that when it got to the menu I selected play movie and then it went nuts!. The digital readout on the DVDS player was counting the tracks as fast as a missle. When it got to the end on the tracks it stopped and ejected the DVD.
I tried again and only the movie option, after burning the disk tried to play and the movie did play, but it started at 1/28 frame and did play the rest of the movie.

I think this has kicked DVDFAB's but and it dont work :(

Now if someone has got it to work then let's hear about it!!!!!:o

Ok, Maybe someone can explain this to me. I have been trying to get a copy of Ledgens of Zorro. I have used DVDFAB express to rip it to the harddrive and then make a copy to disk. When I tried using DVD fab to write to disk only the credits and menu play after that it don't work.
I then tried copying the video_ts files to a DVD and got the same. I then gtried to use Shrink to reauthor the flies but got a error trying to open the Video_ts folder.

I can play the files on the harddrive using any type of DVD viewer on my computer and it works great reading from the hard drive. So this tells me that the files MUST BE GOOD.

I guess I need someone to tell me how I can get the files to a DVD. I am sure that DVDFAB compressed the files becausae the Video folder is 4.13 GB.

If the folder is small enough to fit on a DVD, I should not need shrink to compress the files.

Why not get the latest trial of AnyDVD and let it run in the background, while you rip it with DVD Shrink. Then burn it with Shrink, and you're done. That's what I use, and it worked on this title. Don't make it any harder than it needs to be.

To clarify:

Legends of Zorro (Region 1) has Sony ARccOS. However, it does appear to have one "wrinkle" that most of the previous Region 1 Sony ARccOS releases have not had. They have tagged two additional files (Vob10 and VOB11) so they appear to be corrupt.

If you use the PSLWizard, especially with VOBBlanker, note that VOBBlanker will find these 2 files, and will automatically mark them to be "skipped." This is NOT good, if you try to do any sort of a backup that includes the extras, though. Manually change these so they are to be "processed," and all will be fine.

As to the other programs which have been stumped by this, I believe it is due to these same two files.

Note that some people have no problem, even if they are using the same program as you, but this may be because they are doing a "movie only" backup, and re-authoring, while you are trying to keep some of the extra stuff.

Everyone should keep in mind that statements such as "ANYDVD will do this, why make it tough?" or "FABDecrypter handles this with no problem" may have been true for you. It may not be true for someone who is using a different methodology after the collection is on the hard drive, though. Some of us re-author. Some of us compress. Some of us now do dual layer complete backups. Some of us split to two single-layer discs. Some split, but get rid of FBI warnings and stuff. There are lots of variables. This can be a trickier disc, for those who remove some stuff, but leave other stuff. And, it can cause one to THINK all is fine, until you pop it in your player. Depending on your own preferred method of re-authoring.

The two .VOBs (in this case, Titles) simply have multi-angles in them and are identified as such...

dvd fab decrypter creates a file name dvd under my documents . open dvd shrink click on file ,go to my document scroll down to dvd highlite dvd then click ok .then shrink will shrink it

you need to download it from dvdidle look for free stuff on the site & you can download dvd fab decrypter
