can I adjust trellis and other settings for Xvid in AutoGK? I have a Phillips DVD player that plays DivX and many Xvid rips, but the ones I make with AutoGK look funny on it. . . . and I think I just need to change one of the settings. But I don't know how to do this from AutoGK, I have seen the hidden options section, but it doesn't ask me about trellis or give me access to the other options of Xvid... :(

:readrule: :search: Discussed before!

You cannot change Trellis in AutoGK (or even any other setting).
AutoGK uses Trellis anyway (if that's what you wondered).
Trellis or its absence won't affect standalone compatibility.
If this is DVP642, press the System Menu button twice when the rips look funny. It may fix it.

The second hidden options section was searched and asked by many before but nobody did so far succeed to find it. ;)

To make this clear, it's not there.

I did press the SYSTEM button twice... but the issue I'm having isn't fixed by doing this. It's like the picure gets sharp and pixelated, as in the macroblocks, then slowly smooths itself out.. I am guess it's doing this whenever a keyframe is decoded.. but I love autoGK but with this player.. it's just not working for me with XVID.. DivX works fine. Maybe I'll try that other program listed on here.. maybe that'll do it.. after I test XVID and see exactly what option is causing the problem...

Did you install AutoGK with the ESS chipset option enabled? If not, maybe try that and then see if your AVIs look better.

Peter you might want to try Fairuse Wizard 2 and see if you can achieve results that work better w/your player. It gives you access to all Xvid codec settings (and more, so it's a little trickier to use). And it only works on DVD discs or ISO files.

Hi all, I tried StaxRip and it looks wonderful on that player!!!!

STAX!! One question, the cropping in StaxRip seems to only make widths which are divisible by 32. Have you considered making it so that widths divisible by 16 are allowed? I don't know if you have any control over this? AutoGK cropped one of the movies I did to 720*304, whereas StaxRip did it at 720*288. The resolution AutoGK used was closer to the correct AR, and when I tried playing back the one I did with StaxRip, while the image looked SUPERB!!!... yet it seemed like it was stretched a bit in height. Other than that, I think that StaxRip is what I've been looking for.. .must have taken you some effort to put that together!! GOOD JOB!!! better even than GOOD JOB... !:o :D :D :thanks:  :p :)

AutoGK cropped one of the movies I did to 720*304, whereas StaxRip did it at 720*288.

Are you sure you are not confusing cropping with resizing? StaxRip uses like AutoGK the AutoCop AviSynth filter configured to find values that are a multiple of 4. I don't know AutoGK, your source or all the parameters so I can't say anything other than things like maybe AutoGK don't ITU 601, I don't know.

Out of hibernation

Hi,

Itu resize method is available in Autogk via hidden options (ctrl-F9). More in the agk tutorial. Links to manual, FAQ etc... already given in an older post: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=775680#post775680

Aren't we in an Autogk thread...
