this is something i dont understand, why divx6 exists ??and there are no div x 6 stand alone players!!!???.

I will buy probably a philips 3010 for the divx I own, but if I do a movie in div x 6, can it play on my std alone player which is divx 3.4.5?

do you think that philips will upgrade with a new firmware.

yes, it will play divx6 (avi and divx container), all divx certified players at the moment will also play the xsub format, you can get either divx converter or drdivx2 and convert an unprotect dvd to the divx container with multiple xsubs(up to 8 i think)
