Was just wondering why RB was so much smaller in size for 106.1? The new version is only 699kb. The 1.06 version was 1.86mb. BTW I'm using the updates only zip.

I noticed the smaller size file also. I had to do a double take to make sure that I had downloaded the right file.
Jdobbs must have done some early spring cleaning with the RB code.;) :D

1.06.1 was packed for the first time. Basically a compressed executable. Thats why it is quite a bit smaller.

Thanks for the answers. Did a double take when I saw the file size and actually redownloaded. :o

Not sure whether it will stay for the next version. I had two reports of issues using the compressed executable with Windows 2003...

Not that I use Nero for much of anything anymore, but as long as the downloads don't get as big as Nero's 30Mb http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/crazy/193.gif updates I am O.K. with the previous size DL.

You should have a look at Nero 7, it's download size is 100 Mb. Even for the updates.
The compressed executable should not lower the download size that much as the uncompressed file gets compressed in the zip file, too.
