Hey

Well this has happened to me twice. I'll encode a movie and at some point during the second pass (after 70%) it'll speed up 100+ frames/sec and I'm left with an MP4 audio track with no video that doesn't even match the length of the movie. Has this happened to anyone before. Is this a known problem that has an easy solution? (I hope!)

sorry man haven't seen it as of yet...

im mostly doing dvd backups...what is your source?

the only semi-quirky behavior i see is on the first pass of all my encodes the fps is very low...then rockets up depending on settings (ie...starts out at 5-7fps...then can shoot to ~30fps) during the first pass...

second pass has always been about the same fps throughout

I experience the same problems JarrettH does. All my DVD's backups end up in just having the audio .mp4's. I haven't found a solution though...:(

Didn't think I was the only one :(

Someone suggested in a similar thread (long time ago) to turn off your screensaver and the power off feature for your monitor if you use it.

If you find some clear way to reproduce it, let me know.

I remember something similair happening to me when I use gotomypc (remote desktop tool) and it changed the resolution when I logged in. Everytime I did that it messed up the video portion of the file and left me with just an audio mp4 file.

Here is the thread I remembered the resolution issue from.
