Question about extracting audio files

Hi I'm a newb to DVD converting. Was wondering if anyone knows how or if audio only can be extracted from DVD and burned on a CD for audio play back?If so it would be greatly appreciated

See the guides from the ripper section here in doom9.org.
Shortly:
- use dvddecrypter to rip just the desired audio stream -> you'll get ac3
- use belight/besweet to get wav from ac3 -> so you can burn it to a cd
