iPod Video to PSP conversion?

Okay, I did some searching, but either I can't find anything or I'm such a noob that I can't understand how this might be accomplished. Also, I realise that neither the iPod Video nor the PSP are popular round here because of their nonstandardness, but it seems like this would be the place where people are most likely to know the answer.

Now, unless I'm wrong (and feel free to correct me if that's so) both the iPod Video and the PSP use H.264. So, shouldn't that mean that it's possible to play a file intended for an iPod Video on a PSP without any significant processing other than changing the necessary atoms? If that's not the case, why not? If it is, then how can it be accomplished?

1) the ipod handles standard compliant avc/aac mp4 files fine, so its actually from that point of view a good tool
2) the psp needs some proprieatary extension to mp4, so its actually from that point of view a sucking tool

3) i guess its possible to encode an avc mp4 that plays on both players. if you are lucky your file is one of those. if not, you need to reencode
4) if you are lucky you only need to patch your ipod mp4 file with this atomchanger tool or how its called for getting a file playable on the psp

5) if you are not that lucky you need to reencode. i would suggest you to use megui with the psp profile from sharktooth for that
