Need Suggestions for standalone player

I currently have the Philips 622/37 dvd player, but it has trouble playing some burnt dvds. The dvd will play fine through most of the movie but will skip on certain occasions. I know that it's the dvd player b/c they work fine on my laptop and other select dvd players. All of the dvds are burnt to dvd+r's. I'd like to find a player around $200 or under. Thanks for the help.

What country do you live in? What players you can get depends greatly on where you live.

I have a Pioneer DV-588 and a Avayon 1000. Both read most any disk I give them. I think the Avayon is as good a player (if not better) than the Pioneer and Mail order it is $50 less.

Avayon updates their software, Pioneer doesn't. Avayon plays Nero Digital, Pioneer doesn't. Pioneer looks better.
