Hi,

I am trying to transfer some DVDs to my TViX Player, but I have some issues with the subtitles.

Since the only way to have many subtitles for one movie is to use IDX/SUB format, I have installed VobSub 2.23 and ripped them without any trouble.

The problem is that since I have resized my movies to have the perfect aspect ratio (720x384), the IDX/SUB subtitles are displayed below the movie...
I can only see the top of the first line of each subtitle :(

I have tried the resize/move option of VobSub, but it seems this only modify the IDX file and not really the subtitles pictures (it work nice with MediaPlayer, but it seems that the TViX just ignore thoses options).

It seems to be very few information about subtitles and TViX on the internet (or google do not know them...).

Any idea or tips will be welcome :)

Thanks in advance,
Eric

NB: I am using the 1.9.0 TViX firmware which seems to be the most recent version

Hello!

I also have a Tvix M3000U, but I rarely use subs in idx/vob format.. I always go for SRT. But since you need mutiple subs, the only way I can think it would be possible, is changing the subs position in the DVD.

Use DVDSubEdit (http://www.videohelp.com/~DVDSubEdit/) to change the pos. in the ripped DVD. Then rip the subs!

Thanks for the hint Longinus !

Hello!

I will try that ASAP :)

I got an answer from some TViX guy who told me that the current firmware didn't support PAL DVD's subtitles...
I hope this will work.

I have tried SRT subtitles too, but I got a lot of synchronization issues...
Even if I fix the srt file in order to have the first subtitle at the same frame than on the DVD, many (most) subtitles appears about 1 second late (and I can see the "painting" of text).

Have you this kind of issue too ?

Eric

Hello,
My subs are in sync (if they are the rights ones, of course). You can adjust de delay of the subs with the Tvix remote control.. perhaps it helps. BUT I do have the "paiting" of the text sometimes... its probably a bug, and they will never fix it.. :sly:
