I tried to copy the Eagles Farewell Tour I using the latest version of AnyDVD/Nero6. The picture was great, but no sound. I went back into Nero recode and found that the default sound option selected by Recode had 0 mb files. I then checked the sound file for 5.1 dts digital. When I tried to repay it on my computer (which is relatively new), I was told I had to up grade my dvd replay software to the latest version to support the dts play back on the dvd, which I did and the copy plays great on my computer. BUT, I still cant get ant sound on any of my stand alone dvd players (the original plays fine). What gives?

some (maybe many) "budget" players in the 20-40 dollar range don't support DTS at all, only AC3 (Dolby Surround). if there's no AC3 track on the disc you'll have to convert it prior to burning. see this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=104800) for some software recommendations.

BUT, I still cant get ant sound on any of my stand alone dvd players (the original plays fine). What gives?Since the original "plays fine", I'd speculate that:
A) Your standalone system (either the player itself, or your audio system) doesn't support DTS audio
and
B) The original DVD defaults to either an .AC3 or stereo audiostream
What audio options does the onscreen menu indicate?

Buy a better DVD player!
I reccomend a home theater system.
With Dolby Digital & DTS 5.1 Built-In Decoders.

Thanks for the input, but I don't think it's my dvd players (I have three almost new high-end Sonys, all with dts technology. I also tried it on the dvd player at the office with the same result - no sound.

@mdmgso
Have you considered/looked into the possibilities I mentioned earlier in this thread?
