The results:

Configuration A: (P4 3.4GHz ): 3.12
Configuration B: (P4D 2.8GHz): 4.33

These are average values during two CCE passes using same movie.


Configuration A:

Gigabyte i915 motherboard
Pentium 4 550 3.4 GHz
1GB DDR2 533 (2x512)
Hitachi SATA 250GB
GeForce 7800GT


Configuration B:

Asus i945 motherboard
Pentium 4D 820 2.8 GHz
1GB DDR2 533 (2x512)
Hitachi SATA 250GB
GeForce 6600


Both configurations Windows XP SP2, CCE 2.66.01.07

how about doing the torture test and posting in that thread for a more accurate comparison.
