I have problems to use mencoder for both xvid and avc encoding. It show no error message but simply won't start encoding.

I've tried some different builds for Athlon and also P4 from here (http://www.aziendeassociate.it/cd.asp?dir=/mplayer), with same result.

here are the outputs, the commandline was copied from megui log. so any suggestions what could be wrong?

run the commandline from the commandprompt please.

I ran it from cmd an copied the screen output! Or do you mean something else?
Execution terminates immediately after this output, no progress state at all.

oh.. don't you have an error message popping up on screen? And where did you get your mencoder build from? celticdruid? That one has a problem.. it needs two additional dlls (iconv.dll and intl.dll) .. but if you don't have them you should have a window popping up with an exception. If you search the forum you'll find that this issue has come up before.

the 2 needed dlls I have downloaded before. So it seemed to be all ok.

I'm not sure if these are celticdruids builds here: (see 1st post)
http://www.aziendeassociate.it/cd.asp?dir=/mplayer

Any better one's available?

I could put up the one I just compiled. it's a little bigger than c_d's but it works.

Thank you for the download.

I tried your build but it also doesn't work :(

here the output:

is there any chance to find out where the problems come from?

avisynth is running, I've just encoded the clip with vdubmod fine.

any way to create a logfile or debug ?

your encoding from avs into xvid right? I just ran a test and it works fine on my end. Are you using the latest meGUI?

megui has version 0.2.3.2024

but it's not a problem of megui, because I run mencoder from commandline. I think it's not even a problem with mencoder itself. it's more likely something wrong with my codecs/avisynth/dll or something.

I got it running!!!

I removed on line from avs input:
#Crop(14,8,696,560)

This can make someone crazy, no error message, warning, exeception or something else.

Are there limitations in resolution, "mod 16" requirement ? If so, why not to point out to the user? As mentioned before, VDubMod encodes very fine...

I think such things should be handled more safely ;)

Anyway, thank you for replies!
