So i hired Deuce Biggalow 1 and tried to rip it, i did so 6 times with autogk and got sync issues everytime (ac3, vbr, cbr (at 3 different bitrates)). I read up a little bit about sync issues with autogk and the most common error was that dvd decrypter could not get around some protection issues when ripping the vobs, and it appears that if you try to process these vobs later you will get syncing issues...
after this i started to think, what if i didn't use dvd decrypter, but something else? and now i have a 100% solution fix to any problem that i have ever encountered!
for those of you that don't know about dvdshrink let me introduce you! dvdshrink is a one touch back up tool but it is also much more complex, by using that in conjunction with autogk you can make the perfect rip everytime!! heres how:
1. download dvdshrink from www.dvdshrink.org install it and run it
2. put in your dvd disk and let dvdshrink load it
3. when the disc is loaded, click on the re-author button up the top
4. drag the main movie into the "full disk backup" screen
5. under compression options choose "no compression"
5a. under the movie option you can untick any audio options you don't want and subtitle streams you don't want (i suggest only backing up what you want in the rip i.e. english 5.1 channel audio and DTS if you're that keen)
6. click on the backup button
6a. when it prompts the size is too big click "ok" it doesnt matter if the size is too big because you'll be using autogk to encode the files to a divx/xvid file anyway!
7. when dvdshrink has copied the vobs, load up autogk and go through its options as normal (using the input vobs as the files dvdshrink copied to the harddrive)
now you can get perfect audio sync on any video, any time!
if anyone finds that this method does not work please inform me, but so far i have not had any issues!
good luck!
regards,
kristijan
