after succeeding in creating VFR-videos, i cannot play them back properly.
i use the newest CCCP (http://www.cccp-project.net/) with it's default settings, but the framerate doesn't change. what's interesting is, that i could play VFR-files properly with an older version installed together with a full version of ffdshow. then removed both, installed a new CCCP and wasn't able to play VFR-files since. i can open the files, but the framerate doesn't change, it stays at 25 fps.
note that the video has no errors, it's played back fine with VLC 0.8.4a
for more information about how i created the files, check this thread:

Our MKV playback is Haali's splitter + ffdshow for decoding. This would most likely be weirdness from Haali, but I'm sure someone would have noticed broken VFR at this point in time. You haven't forced fps in your player, have you?

codec packs should be avoided whereever possible, they tend to bork things
that said what directshow filters are used when playing the mkv?

i don't know how to do this or where this option should be in MPC ;) anyway, i just use the default settings, which worked for me all the time.

CCCP is designed to work with almost everything, without flaws. many anime-groups work together on this, so that the users just have to install one thing to play back their files.
i checked with graphedit which filters are used. they're only haali 1.6.49.0 and ffdshow audio + video.
if i should use another program, please inform me ;)

Note that the frame rate displayed in various places is never used for playback, it's there there mostly to confuse users. If you suspect the file is not played correctly, you can check the actual timecodes with mkvinfo -s.

the file works as it should... with VLC 0.8.4a
i suspect that problem is in the playback chain :(
