Hi.

I looking for the best way to do the following conversion:

MPEG2-PS vbr stream (DVD source) to a MPEG2-TS cbr stream. Audio will probably have to be converted from AC3 to a medium bitrate MP3 (192kbps probably).

This is for a pilot project of digital video distribution over a network, and i'm starting to evaluate tools for the job.

What tools would you recommend?

From what I've been able to find, I think VLC will do the video part, but is there any solution that will do it all (video + audio)?

Thanks,
Paulo

Guess you should try VLC more. It includes all you need for digital video distribution over a network - including Audio conversion.
