Turning mpg-Files by +/-90 degrees

Dear All,

Sometimes when using my digital camera on video mode I forget not to turn the camera by 90 degrees. As a result my mpg-Videos are turned by 90 degrees.

Is there a simple Freeware tool to readjust this mistake and turn the video-file back into either one or the other direction?

Sure there is,

AviSynth has a turnRight function and turnleft.

Now trust me it is not just that simple, but it can be done. :rolleyes:

i don't think such a tool exists, but in theory i don't see why an mpeg file can't be rotated without loss... (but it must be in yv12 space, and non-interlaced or things just wont work).

If your on XP, Windows Movie Maker has a rotate function, but i would only use it if you have a DV file. I was surprised its not that bad anymore and you can save it back to DV.

For your problem i would go for VirtualDubMod and just use a filter to rotate it. As for what format you wish to save it to i would recommend Xvid, or if you want lossless go for Huffyuv. I hope this helps but if you are serious about video stuff you should learn how to use AVISynth, it is a must program. If you want it back to your original format (I'm assuming MPEG1) then HC or QuEnc is what you want, but to this you have to learn how to use AVISynth.
