Howdy,
I have a couple of DVD's that are letterboxed 4:3 (eg. the abyss special edition), when I view these titles on my 16:9 display I get large black borders top, bottom, left and right - resulting in a postage-stamp like image with a lot of screen-real-estate being wasted.
I would greatly appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction for being able to view this material (in real-time) using the full-real estate of my display :)
Ive tried "zooming" in zoomplayer but the resulting image is very poor. (the aspect ratio is fine however!)
Im using avisynth via ffdshow presently with limitedsharpenfaster and tried adding in autocrop but it didnt seem to help.
Im resizing to 1776x1000 (my desktop res) and the original material is PAL DVD.
I think what I need to do is crop the borders and just resize the actual image..
Cheers,
Bitey
