Hallo there..
I've got some episodes of a famous series in .mpg format. I decided that before I burn them it would be better to encode them to XviD, because my standalone DVD player doesn't read external subtitles files with mpg files. And what's the best tool for something like that?? AUTOGK of course.. At least that's what I thought..
I chose 100% fixed quality settings to get the best possible quality, and 224kbps mp3 bitrate. But unfortunately, the final avi files in many episodes have serious audio/video sync problems. I use the 2.16b stable version..
I figured there's something wrong with the framerate, so I used virtualdubmod on a "bad" file, and chose to change the frame rate "so that audio and video have the same duration". And now the problem became ever weirder. the audio/video sync is cool in the beginning and the end of the video, but in the middle there's like half a second delay or something
Is there anything I can do?? I tried another application for the encoding (open video cleaner), and the problem remained.. What's wrong??
(I don't think it has anything to do with the autogk version, because I loaded the single mpg file on Vdubmod, and the sync problem was there from the beginning)..
