I've come into possession of a new portable video player from lenovo that plays "SMV" videos. They claim that at decent quality, they can compress an hour of video to 100 megs, and still be playable by the portable device.
Intense googling has told me that it's a video format from sigmatel, a company that makes codec chips for mp3 players. Lenovo has provided an SMV converter for me, but unfortunately the whole thing is in chinese (a language I don't speak), and I have no idea how to use it. I've searched and searched for a SMV converter in english, but I can't find any english downloads.. I've found a few software converters using babelfish, but the apps are always in chinese or korean or something similar.
Anyway.. anyone know how I could convert some videos to SMV? It's pretty useless to me if it just plays mp3s, as I already have a rio carbon..
