after a year of non-encoding dvd (i discover bittorrent anime and got myself a ps2), it's time to pickup where a left off (without opening old threads): http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=86850

i recently found out, that i should have been using Decimate(Cycle=5) for encoding my anime; now, everytime i multiplex my 23.976 video with standard vcd ntsc audio, i get this error message in tmpgenc: XXX s packets cause buffer underflow, etc.

even though nothing goes wrong during playback, am i suppose to do something with the audio?

try decoding the mpg audio and using tmpgenc to reencode it back.

that will never happen; the audio has to maximizes (normalize), sync, and re-sync before the multiplex

i'm probably worrying over nothing (i hope)

If you are using the VCD profile, you have to use the correct bitrates for Video/Audio or you will get this error.
If the bitrates do differ to the standard, use the non-standard-Mode of TMPGEnc for muxing.

everything is standard compliant
