It provides Windows NT4.0/2000/XP with full access to Linux Ext2 volumes (read access and write access). This may be useful if you have installed both Windows and Linux as a dual boot environment on your computer.

I'm thinking of "converting" my dual 200GB into ext2 so I can use the datas in dual boot :)

I'll be glad to finally be rid of the "FAT" on partitions that need to be accessible
on both sides of the dual boot.

well my experience with those drivers were not that good.
crashed quite often and make boot into win sometimes impossible.

I've had similar problems with this driver. It works reasonably well 80 -90% of the time. But when it fails me, it has cost me data plus creating windows start problems. I've reduced the start problems by always booting from a floppy but I can't escape the issue of data corruption.
I am willing to try the new ntfs read write driver which is implemented in user space rather than entirely within the kernel. I don't care that its slow. I just want it to work. For now, I won't trust any of my critical data to these tools. I simply use a FAT partition. That of course limits file sizes or partition sizes but at least its safe.

Well I use those drivers for quite a while ...
there was like "a" and "b" version ... Thanks to "a" version I lost linux installation when windows crashed while reading sth on hd...
Maybe it was the driver fault maybe not ...
As for "b" version I dunno I have it, but I do not use it often , just becouse I do not use windows often lately :)

Ext2fs not stable?
I get confused a bit ... mic64, Bandung, garbii, are you referring bad experience with the "ext2 driver for Windows" or with the "NTFS driver for Linux"?

I'm refering to ext2 drivers for windows , although as I said it might have not been their fault as this happend pnly once... I was a beginner Linux user when this happened so just "maybe" it was me who was responsible :P or a bad luck.
Though still these drivers give u a full read/write access to root partition under windows :( It's a bit scarry for me .
