I encoded a TV capture with TMPGEnc, following the DVD profile, and setting bitrate at around 4,000kbps. I set the bitrate limit to 8,000.

On all the DVD-R's I burn (at 4x to Hyundai 8x DVD-R media) there is playback trouble on my Silvercrest KH6508 DVD player (uses the Zoran MPEG4 chipset).

I've uploaded a sample (captured from the DVD players output) here: http://s37.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=19FD1Y0LYQX2E34FVPPOW9HY7X

Does this kind of problem look like its caused by poor media, or too high bitrate, or some other incompatability?

The DVDs play fine on my PC with PowerDVD.

Hi!

Sounds like a question of media quality or compatibility. To determine the capabilities/limitations of your specific brand and model of standalone DVD player, as well as media compatibility, go to:

Verbatim +R for DVD5 and DVD9 has solved all my problems.
