After several years of mostly successful use of Pinnacle Studio, I recently upgraded to a Sony DVD403 camcorder. I finalise each mini-DVD, and import it into Pinnacle as a single MPG file. However using Pinnacle V9 I discovered a tendancy for the sound and vision to go out-of-sync as soon as I started editing. I consulted the Pinnacle website, and saw that the release of V10 was imminant, so awaited that. I am finding that once I start editing, the video in the preview screen stutters and falls behind the soundtrack, as if the PC is failing to cope with the sheer mass of data. My PC has an Athlon 2.0 processor on a Gigabyte GA-7VAX 1.x mainboard, with ATI Sapphire Radeon 9000 graphics card and 1.5gb of DDR RAM. Is there a known issue with Pinnacle, can I tweak my PC to improve matters, of is it time for a new state-of-the-art machine ?. I have tried running the optimisation software included with Studio V10, to no effect.
