Please observe forum rules, specifically, rule 12: do not ask what's best. Thank you.

which way do you install your codecs?

Which way(s) have you tried?

Christ almighty. I'm in a good mood so I struck you only for rule 11, instead of rule 4.

If you don't like the rules here, you're welcome to go elsewhere.

Thats okay, I didn't break any of the rules anyway.

I tried hanni media splitter then ffdshow, but the qualitly of my xvids seems crappy.

I copy the codec files (*.component) to my ~/Library/QuickTime/ folder.
Pretty simple, isn't it? ;)

Sorry but how is asking "which way do you install your codecs?" in violation of rule 12, or did Xirtam edit his post? If not then I think his response was perfectly fair and wasn't in violation of rule 11 or 4 either. Seems like overzealous moderating is the fault here rather than Xirtam's attitude - again providing he didn't edit something out of his original post which was in fact in violation of rule 12.

Malphas. He first asked what is the best way to install codecs.
Which is a violation of rule #12!

No disrespect was intended.
