Apologies if this is already covered somewhere - I did try to search but no luck

I am backing up some filmes using FabDVDDecrypter and DVDShrink

My issue is that when I burn a backup copy of a foriegn film I am not getting the subtitles along with Title 1 -

So I did a complete disk backup with DVD Shrink instead - and it worked except when I tried to turn the subtitles on my PC and DVD player did not accept the command

None of this would be a problem if I spoke Japanese of course - but lets leave that aside for a moment

This forum has been great by the way - just reading has been an education

Maybe there is a simple answer to this one - maybe no - any help mucho appreciated

Hi!

Edit>>Preferences>> UNcheck "Hide audio and subpicture streams of insignificant size"

Edit>>Preferences>>Stream Selections>>Subpicture language Set to "All languages"

Edit>>Preferences>>Stream Selections>> UNcheck "Disable all subpictures except menus and forced streams"

Many thanks - I assume those are the instructions for DVD shrink

Yes, they are for DVD Shrink. Please post back to advise if it resolves your problem ;>}

Yes - it now took the subtitles

It was only the third step that was needed for me - but it fixed the issue. I think I will leave it that way as default - I assume it doesn't take up too much space

:thanks:

subpicture stream *typically* take up very little space at all. dvd shrink will show you an estimated size of each stream if you deselct the "Hide audio and subpicture streams of insignificant size" as suggested by setarip_old.

you can of course manually deselect those languages you do not wish to keep, although the end resuly may only save a few MB's.
