Rip a moviewithout the voice

Hi,

I would like to rip a movie from a DVD with the sound but without the voice of the actors.

Is that possible and with which applications ?

I've searched in the forum but it seems I'm not enough fluent in english to find something.

Man.. that's a weird question :D
As well as I know, the only possibility you have is to demux the streams from your DVD, get the audio file, convert it to wav (if ac3) and try to edit the audio with a sound editor software (Sound Forge, Adobe Audition... etc), the result, will be not optimal... I'm pretty sure.
May I ask why you need to do that?

It's for a personnal project where I'd like to replace voices on a part of a movie with some others

You'd probaly have better luck, just deleating the audio all together, then re-editing the movie with new sounds. (music, sound effects, voice overs) The audio streams in the .vob files are complete, and I've never heard of a program that would break them apart. Perhaps this thread should have been posted in an audio thread.

You can use VirtualDubMod to rip the audio off into a WAV file; You can then edit the WAV file with Audacity and it is free. DVD Author 1.6 ($100 us) will allow you to piece the movie (or section) back together and add multiple audio streams. It comes in a 14 or 30 day trial so you can see if it works for you. VirtualDubMod should be able to piece them back without any sync problems if you save it as an AVI, but just make sure you use some compression. But if you want or need the result to be DVD, you should reauthor it.
