hiya people, i recently found out about copying Dual Layer disc's using an MDS file etc.
But now a different query, still using a MDS file.
I had a DVD 4.7gig capacity with an unprotected movie on it, i used Nero to Make another copy of it, it ended up throwing up lots of errors , although it still played OK, I then created an ISO image of the same DVD with Nero and still i got errors it aborted.
I then used DVD Shrink to make an ISO image of the same DVD, i got an ISO image ok but i couldnt burn it to a blank disc, even using DVD Encrypter to burn this same image wouldnt work either, I know i should have saved the LOG, but i didnt dam.
Anyway i was now getting near the end of my tether, so i used DVD Encrypter to make an ISO image of the DVD, i think i also had trouble with the first attempt, then trying it again with DVD Decrypter i was eventually succesfull, BUT i then found i had an MDS file with the same name as the ISO IMAGE so selecting the MDS file i then succesfully Burnt an Image of the DVD ;)
But i am very confused now because of the presense of an MDS file making all the difference between success and failure, I thought you only got and/or needed an MDS file when you were Copying Dual Layer DVD's ????????
