Hi, I'm trying to convert my digital-tv shows to xvid with "burned" subs. My procedure is this:

1. Download program from recorder to pc
2. Use projectX to demux the file (*.REC)
3. Use gordian knot to encode to xvid

my problem is subtitles. ProjectX can give me SUP-subtitles, or SON subtitles but vobsub can't handle those.

I tried to convert SON->SUB with Son2VSub but the resulting SUB doesn't show correctly with vobsub, it just shows a grey block where the text should be.

Do you know any other way to get subs to work, or what's wrong with that SON-SUB conversion?

Thanks for any input.

How about authoring demuxed video, audio and subtitle streams to dvd and then using Subrip or similar program to rip subtiles to the formst of need?
Works for me. Some problems still occurs like "w ro ng s pac ing" and if original capture is being cut (commerials or so) the subs needs to be timed again.
But eventually it works :)

Edit:Program to use is Rejig (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=66777)

Easily fixed. Just increase the "pixels between each line of 2 characters" under Advanced OCR Setup.

Secondly, isn't this more appropriate in the Subtitles forum?
