divx converter and DrDivx beta 3,4 and 5 mpeg1 audio error

Hi everyone!

i was testing the new beta a the following error message appears at the end saying the conversion was not done:

because it is missing the mpeg1 audio codec

the "regular" version also displays this message.

why do we have to install the divx 6 codec again when installing the beta converter? shouldnt we just get the option to install the beta converter?

since drdivx beta2 drdivx crashes when it gets into to the audio conversion part.

What about beta 5 with an up to date DrFFMPEG.exe ?

Also make sure you have the needed DirectShow decoders for audio. You can see that in Preferences->About/Updates.

this is whats happening:

Divx converter:
converts the video and when it reaches the audio encoding displays the following message" could not convert vts_01.ifo because it is missing the mpeg 1 audio codec"

DrDIvxbeta5 crashes when strting to convert the ac3 soundtrack to mp3.i have the ac3 filter for decoding ac3 and the latest version of the drffmpeg.exe.

tried music clips(vcd) but the result is the same.

i can only upload the source file(3 minute vob using reathor function in dvdshrink)

i also tested converter and drdivx with vcd video music clips.


i cant upload the final avi as both programs dont "produce" any file.

For the DivX Converter problem, it looks like your audio decoder filter set registration has been damaged. Can you run "regsvr32 quartz.dll" to get back system defaults for DirectShow filter registration? Also, confirm that you have the system installed Fraunhofer MPEG audio decoder in your MS Windows system folder (search for l3codecx.ax under your MS Windows folder.

For the Dr.DivX 2 OSS problem, can you upload the problem clips to

it did work for drdivxbeta 6 no problems now converting but i getaudiosync problem, will upload the video.

i have it in the system32 folder not in System folder.

divxconverter still giving that error.

That's the correct location. Can you run "regsvr32 l3codecx.ax" in command console while in the Windows\System32 directory? Looking at your GUI snapshot, it looks like you were trying to encode a VOB set. They normally have audio tracks of type AC-3, DTS or DVD LPCM. These are not MPEG-1 audio types. It would be easy to diagnose what was going wrong if you could upload a section of those clips (20 MB would be enough).

do you mean using the ms dos command line and go too system 32 and execute the l3codecax?

ricardo.santos, I installed the latest Converter from DivX labs from here:
http://download.divx.com/labs/DivXConverterInstaller.exe

Did a simple encode (just chose the first English 5.1 surround audio AC-3 track, no subtitles) with the VOB file you supplied. The encode finished without errors and the output file played correctly. Is it possible you do not have a good AC-3 decoder filter? Try using the audio decoder filter from here: http://ac3filter.sourceforge.net/. Make sure this filter has the highest merit so that it is picked up.
