View Full Version : Ac3 Errors when demuxing

Hi,
I have noticed that sometimes the ac3 audio stream which dgindex has demuxed has errors. I noticed slight sync errors and ran the ac3 stream through BeSliced which then repaired errors running through the whole file. I then demuxed the same stream using PGCDemux and ran it through BeSliced and there were no errors. Any ideas. Is this a bug?

Can you provide a VOB fragment that I can use to duplicate this issue? If so, please upload it to my FTP server and notify me of the filename.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I'll do a fragment tomorrow for you. Appreciate your assistance. Incidently, to further this report and perhaps make it easy for you to duplicate, the errors on ac3 streams only occur when there is a delay, ie if I've cut a vob etc. Thanks again. Hope this is helpful.

Hi,
Well as I've no internet connection, I don't think it's feasible to send you a sample. But I do have more information for you.
1. If the dvd is ripped using DVD Shrink, there are no problems with a DGIndex demuxed audio stream.
2. If it's ripped with DVDDecrypter, then there are only problems if there is a delay with the audio stream.
3. If that file is demuxed with PGCDemux, the ac3 stream is fine.
4. I ran a vob I'd created with DVD Decrypter (which I was hoping to upload to you) through BeSliced and got the following log.

So, if I then demux the audio from that with PGCDemux, there are no errors but if I use DGIndex, then BeSliced will correct all the erros, as listed above.
Hope this is of use to you.

The sample VOB will help me the most.

Ok, I'll do my best. Actually that's how I noticed that DVD Shrink produced no problems as I was creating a small vob for you to test with that but decided to check it first. The only way I can rip a small vob with DVD Decryptor is to author an small sample myself and then rip it with DVDD. Sorry about the delay.
