Im using the program #1 DVD ripper to rip dvd's straight from the DVD disc to Mpeg2 format for use on my media pc.
I have run into a few movies that just refuse to rip correctly
1- wedding crashers (randomly repeats some scenes.)
2- Star wars episode 1 (repeats the first 15 minutes of the film about 4 times then goes fine after that)
I tried to rip the movie to the HD first using both DVD fab and I tried DVD decrpter but I really dont know why this is happening in the first place.
The disc are clean which was the first thing I thought, I also tried to use the (use ASPI driver to access my device) in the program config with no luck.
Any help is greatly apreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi!
I can only tell you that they are not being ripped properly.
One version of the "Wedding Crashers" DVD contains both a theatrical version and an extended version (Something like 8 extra minutes added into the theatrical version. Al of the 'Star Wars" DVDs contain multi-angles regarding the beginning scroll (English, French, and Spanish)...

damn and out of all the software I have thats 1 of the 4 pieces I actually PAID for , lmao.
So dvdx is where its @ ?
I just downloaded it today, Ill rip star wars ep 1 and see how it goes.
maybe divx will actually work with this prog, I was kinda forced into mpeg2 with #1 dvd ripper cause no matter what the bit rate I always had tons of blocking in my divx and xvid movies, plus they would lock up my media pc when trying to use the fast forward or rewind.

of course make sure to select which angle you want in the input settings aswell. you can use the preview screen on the main window to check(scroll) and see.

the only problem i know of is divx 6.0.3(havent tried 6.1) screwed up doing 2 passes from DVDx where xvid and divx 5.x are fine. that is you have to do the 2 passes 1 at a time and not set both so DVDx would do the second when the first is finished. so you do all your settings, encoding first pass and then change divx settings to 2nd pass and encode that.

Wedding Crashers has some seamless branching based on parental management - the rip is probably OK. If you do a movie only backup, you should delete the cells you don't want (they will seem to be repeated). VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm) can help with this.

why continue using rippoff software though ? i would be demanding my money back.
just for a test i tried stuart little(just the first few minutes is all that needs testing with that). with #1 dvd ripper repeat after repeat etc, with DVDx set to angle 1 no problem. there should be no need to use vobblanker to edit the source first.
