Shrink talks French - no English

I have a dvd that has english and french audio tracks. when I use shrink to rip the dvd the result is that I get the french audio track and not the english - no mather how I select the options before ripping. I would like to use reauthor to get rid of the extra menus as well but there are no options to select the separate audio tracks I want so that doesn't seem to be an option.

it seems like I need to use shrink because needing to get the original dvd on one dvd5 disc - are there other shrinking programs that do the same thing as shrink but have better control of the audio?

What you are saying about the ability to select and/or DEselect audiostreams from within DVD Shrink is incorrect, as this CAN be done both in "regular" mode and "Re-author" mode. I'd suggest you read the "how-to" guide at:

BTW, Playing INDIVIDUAL .VOBs (If that's what you're doing) can be misleading, because in that mode, the player software simply plays the FIRST audiostream it sees. If you have a software player such as WinDVD, playback as "DVD" (NOT individual .VOBs) - and you'll see (hear) that you don't really have the problem...

There are lots of programs that will let you strip out unwanted soundtracks and subtitles. If you don't care about the menus and extras then try stripping out the main movie with DVD Fab first and then shrink it with your program of choice. DVD Fab will let you select which audio titles and subtitles you want to keep.
