Disable Postprocessing on WMV?

I have a wmv file, I guess its either WMV 9 or 10, and ffdshow doesn't support it. It's encoded very poorly and the postprocessing is really killing it as well. I need to convert this to another format, and I would like to disable the postprocessing if possible, so I can make an attempt to improve the video quality. Can this be done?
