I did this a while back and made a few posts here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=101918) about it. I believe what I did (IIRC!) was to use DVD shrink on each disc to make "movie only" titlesets, removing the layer breaks for each of the two discs, and then I combined them using VobEdit, finally burning with PgcEdit and ImgBurn onto a single Dual Layer DVD+R DL.
Sorry, I didn't write-down my exact procedure, but maybe this will give you some hope & ideas.

thanks for the help but i have already mearged the film with dvdremake and i wanted to keep all the menus and strugture of both dvds
i have it all ready it just needs to chapter points edited so when the last chapter of dvd 1 finishes it jumps to the first chapter of the 2nd dvd instead it keeps looping
and to also jump strigh to the menu when you first put the dvd in instead of all that crap at the front

Okay, well at least that last part is easy, jumping straight to the movie or to your menu. That function is built-in to PgcEdit.

@MeridiusUK
DVDRemake is a great tool!
Don't say anything bad if it is YOU who is not experienced enough to work with it correctly.

when you join the dvd how do you skip the disk menu selection
There are many ways, here is the simplest (which is applicable to skipping any menu): http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/guide_ht_bypass_menu.php

There are different ways to merge disks. May be this one is what you are actually looking for: http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/ht_merge1.php

thanks but that did not work tried it, that guide is about puting 2 dvds together that used to be one dvd that had been split not a guide on 2 different dvds.
I have it done it just needs to jump from dvd 1 last chapter to first chapter on dvd2 instead of it asking for dvd 2 and going to the menu on dvd 1
