I bought a bunch of DVDs (clearly bootlegs) off the street in Russia. Since they play no problem on my PC (in America) I assumed that the DVDs are region free. However when I try to play them on my home DVD player they don't work & I get the message that the DVD is formatted for PAL. Is there an easy way to copy the DVD to make it work on NTSC DVD players? I tried doing it with DVD Shrink, but the copy also only works on my PC.
Thanks!

Use a DVD Author program like "DVD-lab" to author it yourself with NTSC format or spend some money buying an NTSC/PAL DVD player :)

Shmendrapolk - I have bought similar DVDs in Ukraine. Yes, they are region free. Yes, they are PAL. Either convert to NTSC or just buy a DVD player that can play PAL and NTSC. The Philips DVP-642 is one possibility that is very cheap. There are others.
