I extracted a .wav file from a noisy dvd, copied onto my hard drive, using BeSweet with a .lst of 4 .vob files. After removing most of the noise with Audacity's noise reducton effect, I now have an acceptable .wav file. How can I overwrite the old audio in the dvd .vob files? I am using win2k/sp4.

You'll need some dvd/vob authoring program, to recreate vobs, and perhaps
to convert wav=>ac3.

Such as...?
I have tried VirtualDubMod. It accepts the .vob files, and the .wav stream, but then attempts to build a huge 186GB .avi file, far outdistancing my HD.
The fractional .avi file, after the program stops at memory overflow, plays perfectly with clean sound using windows media.

VirtualDubMod aint a dvd authoring program. Try Nero Recode maybe, it is able
to create vobs iirc.

Nothing in the Nero Recode guide suggests that an external .wav file could be added to the input and would be muxed

Convert your wav to ac3 using BeSweet or something similar.

I should have said that nothing in the Nero Recode guide suggests that any external audio file could be added to the input and would be muxed. Nero Recode appears to perform like DVDShrink, and just uses the input video.
