A dvd was scratched and I wanted to make a backup copy.

No other software (DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter) could cut through the scratches on the original.

Used trial version of DVD Cloner to create these files.
Can not burn though from these files in dvd cloner: trial version does not allow this.

Was able to create a series of vob files: "vts_xx_x.vob" type files.

A few *.bup and *.ifo files exist also, they are small in byte size.

Seems like whole/ complete movie is in vob at the moment.

I have dvd decrypter and dvd shrink and can not figure out how to convert the files to ISO files in order for me to burn the files to a DVD-R.

Also, DVD Cloner does allow a partial 'trial burn' and suggests the burn go onto a DVD-RW, I tested that, but now ISO can not get those files off the DVD-RW!! YUGGHHH! Please HELP.

Is there any freeware to assist me that has good instructions to convert and burn the VOB files?

Thanks
Robert

Hi!No other software (DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter) could cut through the scratches on the original. You could set DVD Decrypter to -0- "software read error retries" and check "Ignore read errors"...

BTW, have you played your ripped DVD "package" to determine if it's adequately viewable?

Great Idea about DVD decrypter.

And no I have not been able to determine if the ripped files are actually viewable.

Well advise later...

Trying dvd decrypter with your suggestions,

Thanks,

imgtool classic will create .iso and call up imgburn or dvddecryptor to burn for you.

five hours and thirty minutes later,
over 6,000 read errors,
dvd decrypter worked, setting read error at "0" and checking skip read errors.

Thanks to you all.

Yes it is viewable, on a DVD-R,
and not a bad copy at that!

Thank you very much!!!!

Any suggestions as to how to delete the files from the DVD-RW that DVD cloner suggested I make? I can not for the life of me get rid of those blasted files.

Any suggestions as to how to delete the files from the DVD-RWI believe one of the functions available in DVD Decrypter is "Erase Re-writable DVD"...

Actually, DVD Burner Pro (freeware) which I use nowadays to burn
did it for me.

One a scale of one being well, not so good, to ten, being metaphysical "WOW "and the bestest!, I rate your assistance an 18+.
