I captured a movie from an analogue camera. As my DVD recorder has a left and a right input and the original camcorder has only one mono output, the resulting DVD has a left audio channel, which is filled with silence, and a right channel which has the mono audio of the original movie. I ripped it to the computer and now I have this audio in a ac3 file.
My question: is it possible to get an audio file, which has the mono audio of the original track on both sides? So I want to 'delete' the silence and fill it with the sound from the other channel. Can anyone explain me how to do this? I can;t fin it anywhere here on Doom9.

basically:
all u need to do is to decode the AC3 to wav (u can use BeSweet GUI, Belight, dshow filters, etc...) then open the mono wav in a wav editor (neroŽs wav editor, audacity, audition, soundforge, etc) and convert it to stereo wav with "both channels 100% of original mono" (not an actual command but a description of what u should use), and then re-encode the stereo wav with an AC3 encoder.

Find the guides to do these processes...

The most basic way could be:
Find and download BeSweet and BeSweet GUI (BeSweet GUI ) or BeLight.
Using BeSweet GUI:

BESWEET Tab
Input: whatever.ac3
Output: AC3 --> this sets the fileformat for the default name for output. (The word AC3ENC will appear above the drop list menu). IŽtll take the AC3 input and create an AC3 output.
SSRC and Boost disabled.
Everything else disabled or deselected (MPA Decoder can not be disabled).

AZID 1 Tab:
Gain: 0 dB (U can set this 1 or 2 db higher if u want it to sound louder)
Stereo: Enabled with option "stereo".
Decode (Front/Rear): Enabled with option "2/0".
Everything else disabled.

AZID 2 Tab:
Evything disabled (not necessary).

AC3/OGG/PCM Tab:
AC3 Encoding options-->
Bitrate --> 192
Create 5.1 AC3: Disabled
Endians: Motorola

Click AC3 to AC3 and done!!
YouŽll have a stereo 2.0 AC3 file to mux with the video.
