I have been going backwards in regards to pay programs for ripping and burning. First I bought 1Click DVD and dvd43. Then I purchased two other programs. Then I downloaded DVD Decripter and DVD Shrink but never used them. I got the free DVDFab Decrypter. Then I got DVD95 and CloneDVD2 with AnyDVD. I deinstalled dvd43. I also have the free programs VobBlanker and Infoedit.

I had used VobBlanker with DVDFab Decrypter for months now and got good results but I was interested with all the attention that DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink got so I used them with PGCEdit and the plug in and dercrypted Dark Water. Then used DVD Shrink to burn to DVD. It worked well. Its my first entirely free DVD burn. For pay programs I like DVD95 in conjunction with AnyDVD (to be on the safe side). It think it is faster then CloneDV2 and requires less compression than CloneDVD2. These pay programs are also faster and easier to use than the free ones but I can understand why everyone likes the free ones. I just didn't know enough about the process in the beginning to appreciate the free programs. Its only a little over a year since I have been doing it and have learned a great deal more about computers during that time. I had just used an old Gateway computer for email and as a word processor util I got The Dell Demension 8400 in November of 2004. This forum had been a big help along with the Digital Video Forum, VideoHelp and AVS Forum.

With Dark Water I had to use DVDFab to rip it then use pgcedit to clean up the mess. There was some stuff to clean up aferwards. Then it worked fine. Cheers :D
