Hi Forum
Hoping you guys can help me out..
First of all this is the software im using
AVI2DVD 1.2.3 Build 1
Cinema Craft Encoder SP v2.67.00.27
eclcce Plugin
The Problem.
I cant control the OPV bitrate.
In AVI2DVD>Encoder tab Ive selected Multipass VBR, 2 pass
on the Bitrate tab: Max 8000 Min 2500 Max avg 7000
(ive tried ticking Min agv and set it to 2500, but has no effect).
After doing these setting the OPV_bitrate in the CCE_Project_file.ecl file is set to Min 2000, max 9000. ( I cant see and specific setting for controlling the OPV bitrate)
Here part of the CCE_Project_file.ecl
width=720
height=480
frame_rate_idx=1
cbr_brate=6000
opv_q_factor=60
opv_brate_min=2000
opv_brate_max=9000
vbr_brate_avg=2500
vbr_brate_min=2500
vbr_brate_max=8000
vbr_bias=20
vbr_pass=2
opv_brate stays unchanged no matter what i put in on the BitRate tab.
Guys, how do i set the OPV bitrate, OR how do i get CEE to encode using the vbr_brate settings rather than opv_brate?
Thanks in advance

:logfile: If you post your DVD2SVCD logfile the peanut gallery here can see what's gone wrong.
Honestly, even though it's not really made for .avi's, use the D2SRoBa plugin. The worst thing that can happen is that it's predictions will be off a little and it will do two CCE passes.

Seems you mixed up the different CCE encoding modes. If you want to change the bitrate settings for OPV, you have to select "One Pass VBR" under the "Encoder" tab. In OPV (=One Pass VBR) mode you do not have control over the average bitrate, though. You can only choose a value for "Q factor". If you need to fill a DVD blank in OPV mode, you need to use a prediction tool (like Tylo's excellent D2SRoBa).

So if Ive selected Multipass VBR, why does it use the Bitrate settings for OPV?
With all the above settings, a 42 minutes video in converted to a 720 Mb files. With audio set to 256kbs, that gives a video bitrate for 2000kbs.
None of the setting on the bitrate page have any effect on the file size/bitrate.

OK we seem to have a good deal of confusion here.
Could you please post the logfile from the conversion? This file is called dvd2svcd_log.txt and is found in your output folder.
