I have no idea how to entitle this thread, other than reauthoring. But here goes.
I have a 4 DVD set of Due South, Season 3. Big deal, right? It turns out to be Season's 3 AND 4! I want to break them into seperate seasons. Problem? Season 4 starts as the last episode on disk 2. How can I combine all the Season4 episodes, and then divide them into 4 or 5 episodes per finished DVD. I'm sure there is some software, and tutorials that can walk me through this. I've googled, and searched the forums till I'm crosseyed for an answer to this. I would also like to reconfigure the menus to reflect the disk contents.
I've been ripping, and burning for a couple of years now, so I'm not a complete noob, however, this little project is something brand new to me. Would someone be so kind as to give me some direction?
Thanks,
Racer :thanks:

This may take awhile, but u could use Tmpgenenc (plus?) to demux or at least remux so its editable here. The cut and merge tool will let you edit and not have to reecode.
File>Mpeg Tools.

You can use dvd shrink, save each episode separatly. then use Tmpg dvd author to combine with a menu.

@VWRacer
Hi!
Just a point of information - If you follow the valid suggestion made by "spuddog", be aware that by simply using "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (without performing additional, fairly complex work involving IFOEdit and DVDLab as well), you'll be limited to one audio track and no subtitles...

Check out VideoReDo. I think that will do what you want but it is a $50 program.

Thanks to all for the input. I shall spend the next evening or two testing out the suggestions.
Thanks again,

Thanks to all. It took a few times, playing with TMPG DVD Author, but I got exactly what I needed. I only needed the English Audio track, and no subtitles, so it was perfect. I'll play with VideoReDo, and see if I like it as well. Thanks to spuddog for the help, and Peter for his suggestion. I can live with the 50.00 pricetag.
Thanks,
Racer

I may have spoken too soon. My only problem is with returning to the main menu. I can return to the chapters, but not the main menu. I assume I need to reconfigure something. Help?
Racer
Found the configuration problem, and straightened it out!

Check the menu Templates out , not all have the same structure. Also I have had problems with the burning utility included with TMPGenc dvd author. I would make iso's. then preview with your favourite software player first. Sometimes it takes some experimenting to find what works for you.
Sorry didn't see your edit

I'm probably stuck with this new problem, but maybe someone knows what is causing it. On the computer, I can hit the menu button of Power DVD while viewing the finished disks, and go right back to the main menu. On my standalone player, all I get is the icon that says invalid command. It will revert at the end of each episode, and everything else is great. Is this something I'll have to live with, or is there a fix?
Thanks,
Racer
Until I fixed the previous menu problem, it would revert to chapters, on command. in the standalone player.
